Stockholm, May 31, 2024 — This week Qred, the newest bank for small businesses, received the prestigious Nordic Scaleup Award 2024. The award, which gathered some of the most successful growth companies in the Nordics, had a total of 82 nominated companies, of which six reached the final.
Among the finalists were three Finnish, two Swedish, and one Norwegian company, highlighting the diversity and development of growth companies in the Nordics.
"We are incredibly proud to win the Nordic Scaleup of the Year award. Qred's strength lies in the belief that we are doing something good — a satisfaction in helping the smallest businesses. We are a company with many young employees: the average age is 30, and half of them are not from Sweden. This creates a unique atmosphere, we are like a big family working together. This award inspires us, and it feels like we, as a newly established bank specializing in small businesses, have only scratched the surface of this market," says Emil Sunvisson, CEO of Qred.
Qred won the award based on the jury's reasoning: “Qred challenges a conventional market by targeting an underserved segment. During their growth journey, they have had an unconventional social impact by helping other entrepreneurs grow their businesses. They have also been on the Financial Times’ list of Europe’s fastest-growing companies for four consecutive years.”
"Scaleups play a crucial role in the Nordic economy and significantly contribute to value creation in the region. It is interesting to note that the six finalists represent industries where each country has its strengths. Qred, the winner of this year's award, scored highly on all five criteria and is a well-deserved recipient," says Svein Berg, Managing Director of Nordic Innovation.
